Paints vs power

In Build A Mech! by Gerwinfootball, paints are the glamorous half of progression. You still grow from rusty scrap to giant Titans, farm 11 arenas, assemble toward 30 mechs, and earn cash offline—but a legendary coat does not automatically clear a harder zone. This Paint Tier List ranks finishes by rarity and flex value, from common looks up to ultra-rare rolls around 1 in 10,000.

Parent hub: Tier List Hub. For frames that actually win farms, use the Mech Tier List. Released 12 October 2026 on Roblox only, the game keeps servers small (4 players), so your rare paint will get noticed when you roll into an arena.

How rarity bands work on this wiki

Exact drop tables can change with patches (Updates). We group paints into practical bands so you can set goals without fake percentage spreadsheets:

BandRarity feelTypical vibeProgression advice
Trophy (S-flex)Extreme — toward 1/10,000Instant screenshot baitChase only with spare cash
High (A-flex)Very uncommonSerious collector pieceOptional after stable A/S mechs
Mid (B-flex)Uncommon / luckyNice uniquenessEquip freely if you like it
Common (C-flex)Frequent / easyClean defaultsNever delay upgrades for these

Trophy band — ultra rares (~1 in 10,000 class)

These are the lottery tickets. Landing one is a story you tell in Discord (Players Hub), not a requirement for Titan. Expect long dry spells even with healthy farming. If a paint is advertised near the 1/10,000 ceiling, treat every duplicate as a miracle, not a baseline.

Collecting tips:

  • Lock a strong farm loop first (Farm Parts).
  • Keep offline income rolling (Cash guide) so dry spells do not feel like the game stopped.
  • Do not sell the resources that fund mech upgrades just to spam paint rolls.
  • Screenshot and move on—trophy paints are for pride, not gatekeeping friends.

High band — very uncommon flex

High-band paints are rare enough to turn heads in a four-player server but common enough that dedicated farmers will see them over a long season. They are excellent “almost trophy” goals while you finish Build Mechs milestones.

Collecting tips: Slot them on your main A/S chassis from the Mech Tier List so the flex is visible during real farms, not parked on a C-tier scrap bot nobody pilots.

Mid band — lucky finds and seasonal uncommons

Mid paints add variety without demanding obsessive grinding. Swap them when you change arenas or moods. If a mid paint drops while you are learning Arenas, equip it and keep moving—no need to theorycraft.

Collecting tips: Use mid paints to learn the cosmetic UI and trade display habits (if trading ever expands) without emotional investment.

Common band — everyday finishes

Starter colors, frequent drops, and shop-adjacent looks live here. They keep mechs from looking unfinished while you climb. Replacing commons is cheap; obsessing over them is not.

Collecting tips: Pick whatever reads clearly in dark arenas. Visibility while piloting beats a muddy common that blends into scrap piles.

What paints should never decide

  • Which arena you enter — Power and mech tier decide that (Arenas).
  • Whether you upgrade — Always prefer the next progression mech over a lottery coat (Build Mechs).
  • Whether you redeem codes — When codes exist, claim them on the Codes Hub, then spend rewards on the upgrade ladder first.
  • Whether you script — Autofarm tools on the Scripts Hub do not make paints “fair”; they add ban risk and still cannot guarantee 1/10,000 outcomes.

Smart collection loop

  1. Stabilize a hauler (B→A) using Getting Started and Farm Parts.
  2. Schedule paint rolls only after deposit and upgrade bills are paid.
  3. Track which band you are hunting so you recognize a win when it happens.
  4. Show off on your actual main mech, then return to Titan goals.
  5. Recheck this page after cosmetic-focused patches on Updates.

Flex etiquette in small servers

With roughly four players per server, everyone sees your Titan paint job. Be cool: help new scrap pilots with tips, point them to the Guides Hub, and remember that a Trophy paint does not make someone a better teammate. The rarest coat on a player who never deposits is still just a shiny idle animation.

Paint for style. Upgrade for power. Farm for both—without letting a 1-in-10,000 dream freeze your scrap-to-Titan climb.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the rarest paint tier in Build A Mech?

Ultra-rare trophy paints can reach roughly 1 in 10,000. Treat them as flex collectibles, not progression requirements.

Do rare paints make my mech stronger?

Assume cosmetics only unless a future patch explicitly adds stat effects. Climb arenas with better mechs and farming, not paint rarity.

Should beginners hunt 1-in-10,000 paints?

No. Unlock stable haulers and offline income first, then spend spare resources on trophy rolls.

Where should I showcase a rare paint?

On your main A or S tier mech that you actually pilot in arenas so other players in the small server can see it during real runs.
